Kinematics

photo-21

In this picture, a person is throwing a ball in a forward motion.  This relates to kinematics because there is acceleration, velocity, and distance.  The acceleration of the ball increases from the beginning of the swing to the release.  The velocity also increases from the force of the swing.  Once the ball is released, there is both constant speed and acceleration.

This applies to everyday life, because many people bowl competitively and for fun.  Most people don’t think about the kinematics that occur during this fun event.  The force from the swing gives positive acceleration and the velocity of the ball is imperative to getting a good score.
